About

I’m a 4th year Language Arts teacher and librarian-in-waiting living in Oregon.  Originally hailing from California, I moved up to the beautiful Northwest in search of cloudy, overcast skies and picturesque snow-capped mountains.  I found what I was looking for.   I hope to always call the Northwest home.
I’ve loved reading since I was a kid, especially books that could take me to a different time and place.  I started this blog for two reasons  - I’ve become addicted to young adult literature and I’m on a never-ending hunt for good science fiction, fantasy, and futuristic  novels.  Novels that push boundaries, exercise imagination, and most importantly, have a strong voice.   If you think Twilight fits into this category, you’re wrong.  But that’s just my opinion, which you’ll get a lot of if you read this blog.
I’ve developed a three part rating system to accompany each of the books I review:
·  Genre:  The category one would classify the book.
·  Stellarness:  How totally awesome this book was on a scale of one to five stars.
·  Black Hole Features: Things about the book that just dragged it down.

I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon.
